Baseball Recap: University Victorious

University proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 16) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Parkersburg South Patriots 4-3. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Brance McCune was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. University is 6-1 when McCune posts two or more runs, but 6-10 otherwise.

University now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Parkersburg South, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-10 record this season.

University will challenge Buckhannon-Upshur at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks are facing the Buccaneers at the right time seeing as the Buccaneers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Parkersburg South, they will host Cabell Midland at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
