Big Walnut hadn't done well against Highland recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Golden Eagles put the hurt on the Fighting Scots with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Golden Eagles as they're now sitting on five straight.

Big Walnut walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-13, 25-18, 25-20.

Shelby Damron paced Big Walnut's offense, picking up 14 kills. Damron got some help from Audrey Coulson and her 37 assists.

Despite the loss, Highland still got an impressive performance from MaKaylee Merckling, who had 12 digs and three assists. Merckling has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last seven times she's played. Addi Liszkai also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

Big Walnut's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Highland, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.

Big Walnut wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Westerville South on the 23rd. As for Highland, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Galion on the 23rd.
