Bowie hadn't done well against Linden-Kildare recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Bowie Pirates had just enough and edged out the Linden-Kildare Tigers 10-9. This was a revenge game for the Pirates: when they faced off against the Tigers back in February, they had to take a 4-2 defeat.

Alleyah Franco made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 5.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Franco was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Abigail Dial was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Annzle Holt was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

The victory made it two in a row for Bowie and bumps their season record up to 3-5. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Linden-Kildare, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

Bowie will have a chance to go back-to-back against Linden-Kildare: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
