Volleyball Recap: Gulf Breeze Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Chiles + How To Watch

Gulf Breeze faced Chiles in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Dolphins lost 3-0 to the Timberwolves. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Dolphins of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Gulf Breeze couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Chiles a tough time in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 32-30, 25-18, 25-21.

Despite the loss, Gulf Breeze still got an impressive performance from Bella Ciolino, who had 34 digs and five assists. Ciolino has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last six times she's played.

Madison Joyner had an outrageously good game for Chiles as she had 21 digs and four aces. That's the most aces Joyner has posted over her last six contests.

Having lost for the first time this season, Gulf Breeze fell to 4-1. As for Chiles, their win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0.

Looking ahead, Gulf Breeze will take on Satsuma in a tournament on Friday. As for Chiles, they will head out on the road to face off against Niceville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
