Basketball Game Preview: Floral Park Memorial Knights vs. Wantagh Warriors

After both having extra time off, the Floral Park Memorial Knights and the Wantagh Warriors will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Floral Park Memorial knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Wantagh likes a good challenge.

Floral Park Memorial is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup last Thursday. They really took it to Seaford for the full four quarters, racking up a 78-48 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-20.

Meanwhile, Wantagh escaped with a win last Thursday against Malverne by the margin of a single free throw, 63-62. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Floral Park Memorial pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points over those games. As for Wantagh, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Floral Park Memorial strolled past Wantagh when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a score of 76-59. Will Floral Park Memorial repeat their success, or does Wantagh have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
