Volleyball Recap: Conway Springs Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Samantha Howard and Lanie Hartman

Conway Springs lost against Garden Plain back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cardinals took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Owls.

Conway Springs was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-21.

Conway Springs' loss came despite strong showings from Lanie Hartman and Samantha Howard. Hartman had four digs and one block, while Howard had six digs and one assist. Hartman is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season.

Conway Springs' loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Garden Plain, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Conway Springs will welcome Kingman at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Cardinals are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Garden Plain, they have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Belle Plaine on the 30th.
