Boulder City hasn't had much luck against The Meadows School recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Eagles will welcome the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Boulder City will be strutting in after a win while The Meadows School will be coming in after a loss.
On Thursday, Boulder City made easy work of Cristo Rey St. Viator and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Royals: they've now won three in a row.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Boulder City took every set by at least 17 points. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-5, 25-8.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Boulder City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lillyana Gubler, who had four digs and three aces. That's the most digs Gubler has posted over her last 18 matchups. Another player making a difference was Hayden Nordstrom, who had 13 digs and seven aces.
They weren't the only good servers: Boulder City was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 23 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in eight consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, The Meadows School faced Foothill in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Mustangs lost 3-0 to the Falcons.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-21, 25-9.
Boulder City's victory bumped their record up to 17-18. As for The Meadows School, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-8.
