Basketball Game Preview: Bridgeport Central Hilltoppers vs. Wilton Warriors

Bridgeport Central is 0-10 against Wilton since January of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bridgeport Central Hilltoppers will take on the Wilton Warriors at 5:45 p.m. Bridgeport Central has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Bridgeport Central is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 61-54 win over Darien on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Hilltoppers as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Among those leading the charge was Kai Clarke, who posted 16 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Keyanna Kendrick was another key player, putting up nine points.

Bridgeport Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Wilton lost to Staples on the road by a 48-30 margin on Friday. The Warriors were down 42-18 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

This is the second loss in a row for Wilton and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Bridgeport Central, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 4-8.

Bridgeport Central might still be hurting after the 59-34 defeat they got from Wilton in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Bridgeport Central was down 31-10.
