Bermudian Springs dropped their record down to 8-10 on Friday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Biglerville Canners by a score of 6-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Canners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-11 back in March.
Makayla Reese was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. Reese was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, Audrey Kuntz and Katelyn Willow did some serious damage despite the final result: Kuntz went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Willow went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one double. Willow has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lilianna Carre, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
As for Biglerville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since March 24th.
Like Bermudian Springs, Biglerville also got a great game from a two-way player: Sydney McCleaf. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. McCleaf was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jocelyn Miller, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Addison Deardorff was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bermudian Springs will host West Perry at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Eagles are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Biglerville, they will be playing at home against Delone Catholic at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
