            Baseball Recap: Mica Mountain Thunderbolts vs. Thatcher Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            Mica Mountain's game  last Thursday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Friday. They were the clear victor by  a  13-6 margin over the Thatcher Eagles. The  win continues a trend for the Thunderbolts in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

 Cole Lohrenz looked comfortable as he  pitched four innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   six  hits. He also  tossed  no  walks, which is notable because Mica Mountain is 2-1 when he allows at  most  one  walk, but 2-5-1 otherwise.
 On the hitting side, Mica Mountain let  Elijah Higuera and  Ethan Hunt run wild. Higuera  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-1, while  Hunt  scored two  runs and  stole  Two bases. while going 1-for-2. That's the most  stolen bases  Hunt has posted since back in April of 2024.  Hunter Benson also deserves some recognition as  he  got his first  hits of the season.
Mica Mountain's record now sits at 4-6-1. As for Thatcher, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record  this season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mica Mountain will have some time to savor their  victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Salpointe Catholic at 6:00  p.m.  on March 24th. As for Thatcher, they will venture away from home to  face off against Safford  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The  match will  give Safford their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
