Baseball Recap: Giles Spartans vs. George Wythe Maroons

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fort Chiswell, Giles was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They blew past the George Wythe Maroons 15-3. The high-scoring effort was just what the Spartans needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Brady Thwaites made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI.
