Volleyball Recap: Phillips Edges Past Spencer

If Spencer was riding high off their 3-0 takedown of Northland Lutheran on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rockets fell just short of the Phillips Loggers by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Rockets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Loggers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played on August 30, 2025.

Carmen Krause paced Spencer's offense, picking up 13 kills. Krause got some help from Chloe Timm and her 13 assists. Lydia Lau controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Phillips got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Layla Staroba out in front who had 14 digs and an assist. The team also got some help from Mya Hertlein, who had 16 assists and eight digs.

Spencer's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Spencer has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Stratford on the 29th. As for Phillips, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Three Lakes on the 29th.
