            Baseball Preview: Rocky Grove Orioles vs. Cochranton Cardinals        
        
		
        
        
            Rocky Grove is preparing for their first  conference matchup of the season  on Wednesday. They will head out on the road to  take on  the Cochranton Cardinals  at 4:30  p.m. Cochranton took a loss in their last  matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Rocky Grove, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, Rocky Grove was able to grind out a solid  win over Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley, taking the game  6-1.

 Landon Jones was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits over six innings pitched. What's more,  he posted five  strikeouts, the most he's  had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with one  double and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Xavier Gordon was  excellent,  going 1-for-3 with one  triple, one  run,  and one  RBI.  Trenton Rice was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with one  triple and one  run.
 Meanwhile, Cochranton was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight  loss  dating back to last season. They came up short against  Saegertown, falling  10-0. Cardinals fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Panthers since  on Tuesday.
 Rocky Grove's record is now 2-0. As for Cochranton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
 Rocky Grove was able to grind out a solid  victory over Cochranton in their previous meeting  back in April of 2024, winning  9-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Orioles since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
