Basketball Recap: Mitchell Comes Up Short

Mitchell lost to Sports Leadership & Management back in January of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The game between the Mustangs and the Spartans didn't end well, with the Mustangs falling 84-70. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (64), the Mustangs still had to take the loss.

Sports Leadership & Management got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Julian Guerrier out in front who shot 60% from the field en route to 18 points. Those 18 points gave Guerrier a new career-high. Jalen Oladapo was another key player, shooting 4-for-6 from downtown and dropping a double-double with 21 points and ten rebounds.

Mitchell has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Sports Leadership & Management, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Coming up, Mitchell will challenge Wesley Chapel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sports Leadership & Management, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-61 defeat against Clearwater on the 17th.
