Basketball Game Preview: Idalia Wolves vs. Arickaree Bison

The Idalia Wolves will head out to take on the Arickaree Bison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Idalia will be strutting in after a victory while Arickaree will be coming in after a defeat.

Idalia took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They strolled past Flagler with points to spare, taking the game 54-39. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Broderick Kite was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 27 points and 13 rebounds. Those 27 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Kechter, who posted 12 points and five assists.

Idalia smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. They are 5-1 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Meanwhile, Arickaree played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Byers, falling 68-27. While losing is never fun, the Bison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 78th).

Arickaree's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Idalia, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Idalia lost to Arickaree on the road by a decisive 50-32 margin when the teams last played back in February of 2025. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
