Darien and Trumbull are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Blue Wave will welcome the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Darien 2.2, Trumbull 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Darien took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Danbury, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Blue Wave won by a run and slipped past the Hatters 3-2.

Vivian Knott spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

Darien always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Danbury only posted an OBP of .125.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Saturday as neither Trumbull nor Norwalk made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Eagles walked away with a 5-2 win over the Bears. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 19, 2021, but that streak is no more.

Darien has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That lines up perfectly with their 16-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Trumbull, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.

Darien skirted past Trumbull 1-0 when the teams last played back in April. Do the Blue Wave have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
