Basketball Recap: Plainview Has No Trouble Against Chapin

In Friday's Canine Competition, Plainview came out on top. They strolled past the Chapin Huskies with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 51-34. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 43-41 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Autumn Blackwell, who posted five points in addition to 13 boards and three blocks. Those three blocks gave Blackwell a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ja'Zaya Valadez-Hernandez, who had seven points and three blocks.

Plainview's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Chapin, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.

Plainview didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-50 win against Caprock on the 31st. As for Chapin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 48-44 victory against Pampa on the 28th.
