Basketball Recap: Franklinton Takes a Loss

If Franklinton was feeling good fresh off their 61-37 takedown of Granville Central last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Franklinton Red Rams fell just short of the Person Rockets by a score of 48-45 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Red Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while the Rockets are ranked 26th).

Despite the loss, Franklinton still got an impressive performance from Kirby Ransom, who posted 17 points and four steals. Chan Thomas was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Franklinton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Person, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Franklinton will square off against Louisburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Franklinton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57 points per game this season. As for Person, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 60-44 victory against Morehead on the 12th.
