Basketball Game Preview: Roosevelt Rough Riders vs. Tallmadge Blue Devils

Roosevelt and Tallmadge are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Roosevelt Rough Riders will challenge the Tallmadge Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Roosevelt has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with five straight defeats, while Tallmadge will come in with three straight victories.

Last Friday, Roosevelt didn't have quite enough to beat Aurora and fell 62-59.

Despite the loss, Roosevelt got top-tier performance from Jaden Dennison, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and seven rebounds. Dennison's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Gavin Peeps, who posted seven points and 13 boards.

Meanwhile, Tallmadge beat GlenOak 61-53 on Saturday.

Tallmadge's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Roosevelt, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

Roosevelt skirted past Tallmadge 60-57 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Roosevelt since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
