Baseball Game Preview: Madill Wildcats vs. Plainview Indians

The Madill Wildcats will challenge the Plainview Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

On Friday, Madill made easy work of Dickson and carried off an 8-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, Plainview never let their opponents score on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Pauls Valley. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Henry Harlow and Brylan Anderson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Harlow pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Anderson didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. At the plate, Harlow went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Anderson went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. Anderson is becoming a predictor of Plainview's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 11-12 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Devyn Anderson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Flowers, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Madill's victory bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Plainview, their win bumped their record up to 15-12.

Madill suffered a grim 18-1 defeat to Plainview in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
