Football Game Preview: Alisal Trojans vs. St. Ignatius College Preparatory Wildcats + Official Tickets

The Alisal Trojans will head out to face off against the St. Ignatius College Preparatory Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Alisal made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Salinas, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Trojans fell just short of the Cowboys by a score of 31-28 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while the Cowboys are ranked 108th).

Meanwhile, St. Ignatius College Preparatory beat Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory 23-14 on Friday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Fightin' Irish recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

St. Ignatius College Preparatory's win came from a few key players Alisal will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Caedon Afsharipour, who threw for 167 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also caught one score. Those 167 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Zui Shelton also helped out with an impressive 102 receiving yards.

St. Ignatius College Preparatory didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Ty Hicks was the real danger to the passing game, picking up two interceptions all by himself. St. Ignatius College Preparatory got some further help from Charlie Ball: he picked up a sack and made 13 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

St. Ignatius College Preparatory's record now sits at 4-6. As for Alisal, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
