Baseball Recap: Channel Islands Triumphs

It's playoff time, and Channel Islands had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs on Thursday, sneaking past 4-3. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Raiders as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Antonio Carrillo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.

Channel Islands always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Coachella Valley only posted an OBP of .310.

The victory got Channel Islands back to even at 13-13. As for Coachella Valley, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 11-9 record.

Coming up, Channel Islands will square off against Chaffey at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Coachella Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
