Soccer Recap: Crested Butte Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Crested Butte walked away with it. They blew past the Dawson School Mustangs 8-0 on Wednesday. Crested Butte might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Dawson School from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Shawn Moran led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by himself.

The victory (which was Crested Butte's fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 28 goals over those four matches. As for Dawson School, they moved to 11-5 with that loss, which also ended their four-match winning streak.

Coming up, Crested Butte will challenge Telluride at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Crested Butte's defense better be ready for this one: Telluride have averaged an impressive 3.5 goals per game this season. Dawson School does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
