Softball Recap: St. Brendan's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

St. Brendan can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Palmer Trinity Falcons. The Sabres have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Falcons, too.

Jules Miranda spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Leah Lorenzo, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriella Barrueta, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

St. Brendan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They are 9-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

St. Brendan's record is now 11-9. As for Palmer Trinity, they moved to 9-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

St. Brendan and Palmer Trinity should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Sabres will challenge TERRA Environmental at 6:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (111 vs. 287). Meanwhile, Palmer Trinity (ranked 91st) will meet Braddock (ranked 257th) at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
