Soccer Game Preview: Lin-Wood vs. Groveton

The Lin-Wood Lumberjacks will head out to take on the Groveton Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lin-Wood will be strutting in after a win while Groveton will be coming in after a loss.

Lin-Wood is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Hampshire's top teams: Profile, who was ranked 20th at the time (Lin-Wood was ranked tenth). The Lumberjacks narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Patriots 3-2. The result kept Lin-Wood happy, as they haven't lost a game since September 3rd.

Meanwhile, Groveton came up short against Profile on Tuesday and fell 3-1. Groveton have struggled against Profile recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Lin-Wood has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-1-2 record this season. As for Groveton, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4-2.

Lin-Wood skirted past Groveton 1-0 when the teams last played back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lumberjacks since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
