Basketball Recap: Lucy Beckham Takes a Loss

Lucy Beckham lost against Bishop England back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lucy Beckham Bengals might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Bishop England Battling Bishops an easy 63-42 victory. The Bengals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bishop England's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Olivia Allen, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Rosato, who went 8 of 15 on her way to 19 points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Lucy Beckham's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Bishop England, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lucy Beckham will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Military Magnet Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for Bishop England, they will take on Lawrence County in a tournament on Friday.
