Volleyball Recap: Madison Mcclung Key Part of Team Effort in Mustangs Win

Walker Valley saw some tournament action on Saturday. They came out on top against the East Ridge Pioneers by a score of 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Walker Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Mcclung, who had ten aces. Those ten aces gave Mcclung a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Julia Scarbrough, who had eight aces and seven assists.

They weren't the only good server: Walker Valley was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 26 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in three consecutive contests.

Walker Valley's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for East Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Walker Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Copper Basin on the 20th. Hopefully East Ridge paid attention to the Mustangs' match: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Mustangs at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
