Baseball Game Preview: Pine Forest Trojans vs. Lee County Yellow Jackets

The Pine Forest Trojans will face off against the Lee County Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pine Forest is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Pine Forest made easy work of E.E. Smith and carried off a 15-2 victory. Considering the Trojans have won five contests by more than ten runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Chase Mims, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaydyn Thomas, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI.

Pine Forest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Lee County didn't have quite enough to beat Pinecrest on Tuesday and fell 5-4.

Landon Miles was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Pine Forest has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. Lee County's loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Pine Forest's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's game. Pine Forest has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game.
