Baseball Recap: Moorpark Triumphs

Moorpark came out on top against Oxnard on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Musketeers skirted past the Yellowjackets 9-8. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Musketeers.

The team relied heavily on TANNER STOTTS, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was RYAN WOODFORD, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Moorpark always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Moorpark's victory bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Oxnard, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Moorpark will face off against Oak Park at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Oxnard, they will head out to challenge Dos Pueblos at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
