Basketball Game Preview: Ithaca Little Red vs. Auburn Maroons

The Ithaca Little Red will square off against the Auburn Maroons at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Ithaca is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Ithaca is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Elmira on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Ithaca was outmatched by Elmira and fell 56-29. While losing is never fun, the Little Red can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 517th, while the Express are ranked 73rd).

Meanwhile, Auburn was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 50-45 to Fulton.

Ithaca's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Auburn, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Ithaca didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Auburn when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 57-53 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ithaca since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
