Football Game Preview: Florence Falcons vs. Oxford Yellow Jackets + How To Watch

The Florence Falcons will head out to take on the Oxford Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Florence is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Sparkman just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Senators by a score of 24-21.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oxford). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 55-6 win over Huffman. The Yellow Jackets' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Florence better keep an eye on Jay'Lin Taylor. He was instrumental in Oxford's win, picking up 143 receiving yards and three scores. Taylor was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 56 yards. Caleb Jenkins was another key player, throwing for 98 yards and three touchdowns.

Oxford is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.3 points over those games. As for Florence, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Florence suffered a grim 34-10 defeat to Oxford in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
