Football Preview: Sulphur Bulldogs vs. Perkins-Tryon Demons

The Sulphur Bulldogs are taking a road trip to square off against the Perkins-Tryon Demons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, everything came up roses for Sulphur at home against Cache as the squad secured a 62-7 victory. Given Sulphur's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Cache is ranked 163rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wyatt Atkinson had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 67 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. He didn't just play on offense: he also made four total tackles and defended two passes. Braiton Applegate was in the mix too, providing Perkins-Tryon with a touchdown.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Perkins-Tryon's defense and their nine sacks. It was truly a group effort as Ethan Anderson, Applegate, and Applegate picked up two apiece.

Sulphur pushed their record up to 2-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Perkins-Tryon, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.
