Pace had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on the Porter Cowboys with a sharp 12-1 victory on Friday. The Vikings' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last five games.

Oliver Olvera was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Abraham Gutierrez, who scored three runs.

Pace always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Porter only posted an OBP of .333.

Pace's win bumped their record up to 2-13. As for Porter, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Pace will face off against rival Donna North at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Porter is set to take on their familiar foe Weslaco East at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
