Football Recap: Nease Panthers vs. Buchholz Bobcats
Nease managed to slip by Buchholz the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Panthers came up short against the Bobcats on Friday, falling 27-7. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Despite the loss, Nease still got an impressive performance from Enrique Ordo?ez, who rushed for 137 yards and one TD on only 14 carries. Ordo?ez really tore up the turf during one magnificent 71-yard run.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Buchholz to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andrew Whittemore, who rushed for 88 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 182 yards while completing 71.4% of his passes. Those 88 rushing yards gave Whittemore a new career-high. A healthy portion of Whittemore's aerial production (116 yards to be exact) went to Justin Williams.
This is the second loss in a row for Nease and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Buchholz, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
Nease will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bartram Trail at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. As for Buchholz, they will square off against Gainesville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
