Southside and Winn are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2020, but likely not for long. The Cardinals will head out to challenge the Mavericks at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Winn took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Southside, who comes in off a win.

While Southside's victory against Harlandale wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cardinals had just enough and edged out the Indians 8-7 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cardinals have posted against the Indians since March 22, 2022.

Meanwhile, Winn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jay.

Winn saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amaddis Avila, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Kiara Garcia also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

The victory snapped Southside's losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 13-10 record. As for Winn, their loss dropped their record down to 4-19.

Everything went Southside's way against Winn when the teams last played back in March, as Southside made off with a 12-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
