Basketball Recap: Lee's Summit West Comes Up Short

Lee's Summit West lost against Raytown back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lee's Summit West Titans fell just short of the Raytown Bluejays by a score of 57-55. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Bluejays are ranked 29th).

Lee's Summit West's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Raytown, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Lee's Summit West has already played their next game (against Staley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Raytown Bluejays duke it out with the Ruskin Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Raytown has five straight wins, Ruskin has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
