Baseball Recap: Holy Ghost Prep Triumphs

The Holy Ghost Prep Firebirds beat the St. Augustine Prep Hermits 4-1 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Firebirds.

Holy Ghost Prep got a great performance from Nick Armitage as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

On the hitting side, Tyler Bergkoetter was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was K.J. Freiband, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

The victory got Holy Ghost Prep back to even at 4-4. As for St. Augustine Prep, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 8-1.

Looking ahead, Holy Ghost Prep will be playing in front of their home fans against La Salle College at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Explorers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for St. Augustine Prep, they will square off against Lenape at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
