Shields had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Choctaw County Tigers 65-32 on Friday. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 33 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Choctaw County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Rhianna Mitchell almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Mitchell a new career-high in boards.

Shields' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Choctaw County, they moved to 8-12 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Shields will head out on the road to square off against Marengo at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Marengo's defense has only allowed 27.6 points per game this season, so Shields' offense will have their work cut out for them. Choctaw County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
