Softball Recap: Northview Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Northview walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Branford Buccaneers on Tuesday as they made off with a 14-6 win. The Chiefs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Daviona Randolph was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Avery Stuckey, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Northview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Branford only posted an OBP of .333.

The victory was the seventh in a row for Northview, bringing their record up to 22-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Branford, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 21-7 record.

Coming up, Northview will challenge Trenton at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Chiefs 2.9, the Tigers 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Branford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
