Football Recap: Hunterdon Central Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against East Brunswick last Friday, Hunterdon Central came back down to earth. The Red Devils wound up with the same score they had in their last game (28-7), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The defeat continues a trend for them in their meetings with the Red Devil: they've now lost eight in a row.

C.J. Griffith was a one-man wrecking crew For Ridge. as he rushed for 121 yards and one score. They are undefeated when Griffith posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise. Ridge also got a significant boost from Nick Pfennig, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 90 yards.

Hunterdon Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Ridge, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hunterdon Central will host Old Bridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' defense has only allowed 6.9 points per game this season, so the Red Devils' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Ridge, they will take on North Brunswick at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Red Devil will be up against the North Brunswick Raiders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.14 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
