Baseball Preview: North Allegheny Tigers vs. Mt. Lebanon Blue Devils

The North Allegheny Tigers will head out to square off against the Mt. Lebanon Blue Devils at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Things were looking good for North Allegheny after they put the first points on the board last Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Norwin by a score of 9-8. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Mason Smith and JJ Mancuso stepped up to the plate in a big way. Smith went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one double, while Mancuso went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Smith has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Pealer, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Mt. Lebanon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Seneca Valley. One positive for the Blue Devils, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Mt. Lebanon's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for North Allegheny, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

North Allegheny skirted past Mt. Lebanon 1-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Does North Allegheny have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mt. Lebanon turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
