Basketball Recap: Limon Takes a Loss

Limon fought the good fight in their overtime game against Holyoke on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 49-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Holyoke Dragons. The Badgers just can't catch a break and have now endured nine losses in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Limon lost, don't look at Gianna Humphrey. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a triple-double with 12 points, 12 boards, and nine steals. Humphrey has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Emma Coonts was another key player, putting up six points.

Among those leading the charge was Ellie Kleve, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 18 rebounds. Those 18 boards gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Kleve, who posted five points.

Limon's defeat dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Holyoke, the win snapped their losing streak at 14 games and leaves them with a 4-19 record.

Limon has already played their next matchup, a 61-21 loss against Sedgwick County on the 7th. As for Holyoke, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-15 defeat against Sanford on the 7th.
