Softball Recap: Northridge Knights vs. Hunter Wolverines
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Northridge can now relate to. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hunter Wolverines on Saturday. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Wolverines recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Kaydence Chournos and Berklee Larsen did some serious damage despite the final result: Chournos went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI, while Larsen went 3-for-5 with one stolen base and one run. Another player making a difference was Makaybree Nay, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run.
Northridge's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Hunter, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-14.
While Northridge had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
