Basketball Game Preview: Lander Valley Tigers vs. Powell Panthers

Lander Valley and Powell are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. The two teams will face off at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.

It was a proper cat-fight when Lander Valley challenged Hot Springs County on Friday. The contest between Lander Valley and Hot Springs County didn't end well, with Lander Valley falling 72-54. The loss was the Tigers' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Powell had already won 27 in a row dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.3 points) and they went ahead and made it 28 on Friday. They beat the Outlaws by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 60-54.

Powell pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Lander Valley, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Lander Valley came up short against Powell in their previous meeting back in February, falling 65-53. Can Lander Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
