Football Game Preview: North Farmington Raiders vs. Athens Red Hawks + How To Watch

The North Farmington Raiders will square off against the Athens Red Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Athens took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on North Farmington, who comes in off a win.

North Farmington took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They breezed past Bloomfield Hills to the tune of 42-7. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-7.

A big part of North Farmington's victory came down to the chemistry between Elijah Cobb and his top target Lelend Hollingsworth. Cobb rushed for 73 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries while Hollingsworth gained 61 total yards.

Meanwhile, Athens played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Farmington, falling 38-14. The defeat continues a trend for the Red Hawks in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost three in a row.

North Farmington will need to focus on slowing down Andrew Dunlap, one of several Athens players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 46 yards and one score, and also threw for 146 yards and one TD. Nathan Piggott was Dunlap's top target, picking up 88 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Athens' loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for North Farmington, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

North Farmington was able to grind out a solid victory over Athens when the teams last played back in September of 2024, winning 14-7. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Red Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
