Concord is 1-9 against Central Cabarrus since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Friday. The Spiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings  at 6:30  p.m. Concord will be strutting in after a  victory while Central Cabarrus will be coming in after a  loss.
Concord took a loss when they played away from home  on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Tuesday. They blew past Northwest Cabarrus 11-5.

 Mason Porter made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  pitched four innings while giving up just two earned  (and three unearned) runs off   six  hits. Porter was even better at the plate,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with three  runs and one  stolen base. Those  four  hits gave  him a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Greyson Daniels was  excellent,  going 2-for-3 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  run. That's the most  RBI  he has posted since back in March.
 Concord was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .433. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
Robinson hit Central Cabarrus with a five-run fourth inning  on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of  5-4. The  defeat   continues a  trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.
 Central Cabarrus saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Keyen Elbe, who  went 2-for-3 with three  stolen bases and three  runs. Elbe is becoming a predictor of the Vikings' success: when he posts  at  least two  runs the team is 4-1 (and 2-13 when he doesn't). Another  was  Carson Fink, who  went 2-for-3 with two  RBI.
 Concord's win  ended  a  six-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 7-15. As for Central Cabarrus, their loss dropped their record down to 6-14.
 Concord came out on top in a nail-biter against Central Cabarrus in their previous matchup  back in March, sneaking past  3-2. Do  the Spiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
