Recap: Oswayo Valley Green Wave vs. Smethport Hubbers
The Oswayo Valley Green Wave had to endure an 11-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down Smethport 53-38 on Wednesday. The victory was just what Oswayo Valley needed coming off of a 85-25 defeat in their prior game.
Leading Oswayo Valley to victory were Brayden Wiley and Gabe Mundt. Wiley scored 16 points along with six assists and three steals, while Mundt scored 17 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mundt has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Resig, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Oswayo Valley's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-11. As for Smethport, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oswayo Valley will take on Coudersport at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Smethport, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Galeton at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st.
