Basketball Recap: Mid-Carolina Takes a Loss

Mid-Carolina played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Newberry Bulldogs, falling 70-47. The Rebels haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Mid-Carolina lost, don't look at Jaquon Mckinney. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 11 on his way to 12 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Montieth Brown, who posted six points.

Even though they lost, Mid-Carolina was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Mid-Carolina's record is now 1-6. As for Newberry, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-3.

Mid-Carolina will venture away from home to square off against Woodruff at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Newberry, they will welcome Saluda at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
