Soccer Game Preview: Manteo vs. First Flight

The Manteo Redskins will venture away from home to take on the First Flight Nighthawks at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Manteo headed into their last match having not scored more than one goal for four straight, but Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech let them put that streak behind them. The Redskins blew past the Griffins 7-1 on Wednesday. Given Manteo's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 199th, while Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech are ranked 463rd), the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, First Flight earned a 3-1 win over Manteo on Monday.

Manteo has been on a roll lately: they've won 22 of their last 26 games, dating back to last year. That gives them a 6-3 record this season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 100 goals over those 26 contests. As for First Flight, the win improved their record to 3-6-2.
