Recap: El Primero Lobos vs. DCP Alum Rock Lobos
The El Primero Lobos lost against the DCP Alum Rock Lobos back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. El Primero fell to DCP Alum Rock 53-48. El Primero has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Lobos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was JOSH CHAVEZ, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. CHAVEZ is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 17 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of RICARDO GARCIA, who scored eight points along with 18 rebounds and eight blocks.
DCP Alum Rock got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isidro Cigarroa Fores out in front who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Cigarroa Fores is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Tony Clarida was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds.
El Primero dropped their record down to 5-17 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for DCP Alum Rock, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. El Primero will take on East Palo Alto Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in California (El Primero is ranked 1303rd, while East Palo Alto Academy is ranked 1321st). As for DCP Alum Rock, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mountain View Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. DCP Alum Rock is facing Mountain View Academy at the right time seeing as Mountain View Academy is stuck on a eight-game losing streak.
